Our World Book Day will take place on Wednesday 1st March 2023, so we can all participate and make this day a special occasion for everyone. World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading, especially for children. To help them get started, every child receives a £1 World Book Day Token that can be either exchanged for a special £1 World Book Day book or used to get £1 off another book. You can find out more about this at worldbookday.com/books. On Wednesday 1st March, staff will dress up as a book character and join together with all classes in the hall during the morning. The children will then be given the chance to choose which story they would like to listen to. We are not asking the children to dress as a book character themselves instead we would like the children to dress in non -school uniform on this day. The children will be asked to make a potato into their own favourite book character using lots of fun resources during the afternoon. The children will take this home at the end of the day which will create more ‘talk’ around stories. You can join us in building your child’s enthusiasm for books well beyond World Book Day by reading together regularly and joining your local library if you are not yet members. Thank you for your participation.
