RE
At the Federation of Grove House and King’s Park Infant Schools we base our RE learning around The Norfolk Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. This is rooted in a vision for the subject which acknowledges the importance of religious and non-religious worldviews in all human life.
The curriculum is based around three disciplines, theology, philosophy and the human/social sciences. Each topic is planned with a core question in which the children will then learn about through an enquiry-based based approach. Each question is approached through one of these disciplines.
- Theology – Thinking through believing
- Philosophy – Thinking through thinking
- Human and Social Sciences – Thinking through living.
In Key Stage 1 the children investigate Christianity and one other principle religion, Judaism. The children have the opportunity to reflect on other world religions. Our learning is enriched with a variety of speakers in assemblies and visits to local places of worship.
Every parent has the right to withdraw their child from RE lessons if they so wish. Please contact the Headteacher to discuss and confirm
