Computing

At King’s Park and Grove House schools, we learn about coding, writing algorithms and debugging problems. We practice word processing to create and edit projects. We learn and understand the importance of esafety as well as using technology respectfully.

We discuss what is acceptable and unacceptable and know how to ask for help and support. As a key part of safeguarding, safety runs through our entire computing curriculum giving children opportunities to understand and appreciate how to stay safe on the internet.

We use a range of computing software which enriches our curriculum.

In EYFS, we foster an environment to develop computational thinking where children are able to reason about scenarios. They create sequences and consider important steps to reach an end goal. Children explore patterns and problems working together and communicating. We challenge our children in thinking of the ‘how’ and the ‘why’?

In line with the National Curriculum, our children will explore learning across 3 strands of computing:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Digital Literacy
